For Farm Business Sustainability in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
This prestigious award, initiated by the Duchy of Cornwall, will be made to the farm business that is
adjudged to have most successfully developed their enterprise to deliver a sustainable approach to
farming, forestry and/or food production within Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.
Previously the award has been given for teaching traditional skills, and later for farm business diversification. In 2024 we are re-framing the aim of the award to reflect the key role of farming and food production in the sustainable stewardship of our land.

Our judging panel will take particular account of how farm businesses have risen to the challenge of delivering a creative and balanced approach to farming, whilst also maintaining or enhancing nature, and moving towards net zero.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate achievements in:
- Soil health
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing sequestration
- Water and wetland management
- Natural habitat management and creation
- Improved opportunities to benefit mental and physical health among the public/community through access
- Collaboration on landscape-scale sustainable farming
- Adopting innovative practices that support nature and net zero
- Commercial viability/sustainabilityEntries are invited by businesses or nominations of a business by completing the application form
below. If you are nominating a business, please make them aware of such a nomination.

Please note that previous recipients of this award will not be eligible for nomination until the third year after their win. Also, farm tourism businesses (B&Bs, holiday cottages etc.) are not eligible for this award.
