In 2015 Show Hosts were introduced at the Royal Cornwall Show. The Show Hosts, a group of knowledgeable people, were on hand in pairs close to the entrance gates at the show to provide information and advice to show-goers about their visit. They pointed the way to the main ring, or where the nearest toilets and whatever else they were asked for help with.
Our continuing aim is to help make the show experience for everyone who attends that bit better. Particularly for those visiting the show for the first time or haven't been for a few years. Sometimes even someone who joins us every year needs to find something they haven't done before and needs a helping hand.
We are seeking up to 48 Show Hosts who are willing to volunteer their time to undertake to a two hour shift, either from 9.00am – 11.30am or 11.30am – 2.30pm on one or more of the three show days.
The ideal candidates would be confident in dealing with the general public, happy to deal with their enquiries and have some knowledge of the show and the layout of the showground. We'll provide further information and answers to the common enquiries to those who volunteer.
What do I get in return for volunteering?
In return for your help we will provide each volunteer with a one day Royal Cornwall Show entry ticket.
